Outreach Programs

This congregation has a very active program of mission giving and outreach. A Mission Committee coordinates this work.

Caregiving

Each fall the Caregiver Coordinators invite people in the congregation to complete a volunteer sheet of ways they are willing to assist others during the year: cooking meals, visiting shut-ins, sending cards, providing transportation, running errands, baking and delivering friendship breads, etc. Many people help and many people are served through this program.

Missions Committee

This committee educated the congregation about the mission programs we support and helps people become personally involved. Everyone is encouraged to bring non-perishable food for Loaves & Fishes food pantry each month.

Organizations we support

• Heifer Project International has helped families in more than 125 countries to become self-reliant for food and income, by providing over 20 different types of farm animals and training in environmentally-sound farm management and community development. Some Sunday School classes buy animals through HPI and the Christmas Fair offers the possibility of buying animals as an alternative gift for people who have enough.

• Habitat for Humanity. The North Central Mass. Habitat chapter has built houses in Littleton, Gardner and Leominster. Some of our folks have worked on each one and a summer offering helps fund the houses. In 1996 ten of our people helped build foundations in Guatemala through Habitat.

• Church World Service responds to disasters around the world with blankets, food, safe water, and help rebuilding lives. We provide funds through our offerings, special gifts, and sale of Mothers Day and Father Day cards.

Our church's Caregivers, Loaves & Fishes and Habitat for Humanity are looking for volunteers. You are encouraged to get connected and make a difference.
